Windfarm at Sunset

I was en route by train from Chicago to Seattle on Day 2 of my trip. It has been a most rewarding day of watching the landscape turn as we rolled through North Dakota and Montana.

When the day began we had been firmly in the upper Midwest, but as the sun set we were getting close to the mountains of Glacier National Park in Montana.

The sun is setting somewhere in the self-described treasure state and we’re still in relatively flat county.

It’s an ideal place to place a wind farm because wind is in plentiful supply here. The windmills sit atop ridges and do their thing.

I liked the contrast of the wind farm against the colors of the setting sun reflecting on the clouds.
