Seeing Things, Saying Things

Musings About Writing, Photography and Teaching

Jack and Jane have known each other for a long time. But he lives near New York City and she lives near Cleveland and these days circumstances are such that they rare see each other.

So when a picnic brought them together they had a lot of catching up to do. I’ve always thought this image reflected not just friendship but the type of friendship that passes the test of time even if the friends seldom get to interact face to face.

This may be the last time that Jack and Jane will ever see each other given that both are limited in their ability to travel and opportunities to meet just aren’t what they used to be. I’m sure they treasured whatever time they had together at the picnic to talk about old times and present times.
