2 Minutes Later and This Damsel Might Have Been in Real Distress

Damsel on rails-x

I was hanging out in Peninsula, Ohio, waiting to photograph the arrival of a train on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and anything else that caught my eye.

There was a wedding party having photographs made on the platform of the station and I made a few photos of them through a telephoto lens.

The photo session was coming to an end when the bride walked out onto the tracks and laid down between the rails.

The groom took her hand and helped her up. It all happened in less than 30 seconds.

But two minutes after I made this image, the CVSR train came trundling into the station. Trains move slowly here and the engineer probably would have spotted the bride and groom ahead and stopped the train before disaster struck.

But by the time the train arrived, the wedding party had gotten back into their limousine and departed.

They may never know how close they came to being in a panic.
